Recent News

Thanks to all who attended our recent Track & Field Clinic, we wanted to recap all of the amazing things that occurred as well as highlight our award winners even further!

You can find Steve Porter’s excellent Clinic Recap right here.

The MHSCA January Newsletter can also be found here.

As we head quickly into the 2023 Track & Field Season we wanted to let you all know some very important information:

The 2023 MITCA Team State Meet Dates/Locations:
Division 1 – Zeeland on Friday May 26th
Division 2 – Berrien Springs on Friday May 26th
Division 3 – Clare on Saturday May 27th
Division 4 – Mt. Pleasant on Saturday May 27th

Power Ranking Meets and instructions will be sent out on athletic.net by mid March.

We also announced at the Clinic that there will be a new post season opportunity for all Michigan HS athletes hosted by MITCA after the season. After being an amazing experience for Mid West athletes since 1974 the realities of the modern world have led us to move on to a new format. Other states have continually backed out at the last minute and our own coaches have struggled to field an entirely senior led team. MITCA wants to thank everyone who has ever been involved with the MidWest Meet of Champions and we specifically would like to thank Kim Spalsbury for his continued dedication to the meet and Track & Field in Michigan as a whole. We were honored to present Kim with a special recognition award at the Clinic.

New in 2023 we will be creating the Michigan Track & Field Meet of Champions which will be open to all athletes in High School(9th-12th) with the intention of putting Michigan’s very best athletes on the same playing field. Entry procedures and qualification information will be announced shortly.
Currently what can be announced is:
Location: Davison High School
Date: Friday June 9th & Saturday June 10th

Please stay tuned for much more information coming soon!
