{"id":322,"date":"2022-05-29T13:18:31","date_gmt":"2022-05-29T13:18:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mitca.org\/MITCA\/?page_id=322"},"modified":"2022-06-08T13:09:06","modified_gmt":"2022-06-08T13:09:06","slug":"track-field-academic-all-state","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/mitca.org\/MITCA\/mitca-awards\/track-field-academic-all-state\/","title":{"rendered":"Track &#038; Field Academic All State"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2><em><strong>The Academic All State Submission Form<br>for Track &amp; Field (INDIVIDUALS)<br>will be turned back on and begin accepting<br>submissions&nbsp;the day after the State Finals.<\/strong><\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3>Athletes must place in the Top 8 in an event (including relays) at the MHSAA State Finals AND have a 3.500 minimum CUMULATIVE GPA on 4.000 scale.&nbsp;<em>Additionally, any athlete who competes in the MHSAA State Finals meet (regardless of finish position) with a 4.000 GPA is also eligible.&nbsp;<\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h2><strong>Academic All State Awards are based on a 4.0 grading scale and submitted to 3 decimal places (ie 3.985).<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If your school uses weighted grades for AP or other courses, then it is the responsibility of the coach or person submitting to convert the grades <strong>(BY HAND IF NECESSARY)<\/strong> to a 4.0 Scale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Taking a GPA of 4.234 and simply truncating it to 4.000 is NOT an acceptable conversion.<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>If a student has earned a \u201cA-\u201d \u2026 in ANY class \u2026 EVER \u2026 he\/she does NOT have a 4.0 GPA for the purposes of Academic All State Awards.\u00a0 A 4.000 means that a student has earned ALL \u201cA\u201d grades, EVERY semester so far.<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>An \u201cA\u201d in an <em>Advanced Placement<\/em> class is worth 4.000. An \u201cA\u201d in a <em>college-dual-enrollment class<\/em> is worth 4.00.&nbsp; An \u201cA\u201d in <em>Sub-Remedial-Basket-Weaving-For-Dummies<\/em> is worth 4.000.<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ANY grade of \u201cA+ or A\u201d = 4.000 \u2026 regardless of the class.<br>ANY grade of \u201cA-\u201d = 3.700 \u2026 regardless of the class.<br>ANY grade of \u201cB\u201d = 3.000 \u2026 regardless of the class.<br>ANY grade of \u201cB-\u201d = 2.700 \u2026 regardless of the class.<br>ANY grade of \u201cC+\u201d = 2.300 \u2026 regardless of the class.<br>ANY grade of \u201cC\u201d = 2.000 \u2026 regardless of the class.<br>ANY grade of \u201cC-\u201d = 1.700 \u2026 regardless of the class.<br>ANY grade of \u201cD+\u201d = 1.300 \u2026 regardless of the class.<br>ANY grade of \u201cD\u201d = 1.000 \u2026 regardless of the class.<br>ANY grade of \u201cF\u201d = 0.000 \u2026 regardless of the class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>You may need to go through each grade in the student\u2019s transcript and total them up and calculate the average.&nbsp; Submissions that are made incorrectly will not be considered.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSdzDIoZqdk5PEC6XG0dStcUmst5RONM_AIgfwhJrDdI-xZpgQ\/viewform?embedded=true\" marginheight=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" width=\"640\" height=\"3023\" frameborder=\"0\">Loading\u2026<\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Academic All State Submission Formfor Track &amp; Field (INDIVIDUALS)will be turned back on and begin acceptingsubmissions&nbsp;the day after the State Finals.
